A very fine, rare Swiss gentleman’s minute repeating pocket watch, circa 1910. Made for Ed. Richard, Locle.
Polished 18-carat gold case, signed C. H. Meylan, Switzerland, with gold dome and slide for repeating mechanism. Enamel dial with Arabic Breguet numerals, auxiliary seconds and blued spade hands. Bridge movement, rhodium-plated, with Geneva striping decoration, 29 jewels, five adj., two hammers / two gongs with Audemars’ all-or-nothing repeating system, screwed gold chatons, gold screw compensation balance and index spring fine adjusting device.

LeCoultre launched this movement in 1899 and exhibited it at the 1900 Paris Universal Exposition. It quickly became a very popular calibre. Cartier used it in the majority of its repeaters.
