Swiss open faced lever in 18K gold contract case Circa 1916

A Swiss open faced pocket watch in 18 carat gold contract case, circa 1916. Retailed by Cowell & Hubbard Co. 17”’ Manual winding movement, 18 jewels, bimetallic balance. Silvered dial, painted Arabic numerals, blued steel Breguet hands and divided chapter ring for minutes. Movement and dial signed by maker and retailer. Bezel and case back with black enamel detailing, bow at 6 o’clock, sapphire cabochon set crown at 12 o’clock, solid snap on case back. With an Extract from the Archives for the movement only, confirming date of sale on 16 July 1917.
