A silver verge pocket watch made for the Ottoman market, circa 1700.
Plain polished case with shutter to the winding hole. Silver champlevé style dial with Ottoman numerals, engraved centre, applied garnets and blued steel hand. Full plate movement, keywind, fire gilt, signed, chain/fusee, ratchet wheel set-up, three-arm brass balance, very finely engraved and pierced balance cock. Movement signed Almas in Turkish.
