Gold, enamel and diamond-set Louis XV watch

A French 20K gold Louis XV, painted on enamel and rose-cut diamond-set quarter repeating à toc pocket watch with an outer protecting case, circa 1770. The bezel is decorated with blue and red enamel over a chased wave pattern and set with rose-cut diamonds, a pendant and a thumb-piece set with large rose-cut diamonds, the back with a monochrome pink painted on enamel allegory of astronomy, chased and engraved laurel border.

White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, Arabic five-minute numerals and rose-cut diamond-set hands. A matte gilt, full-plate movement, fuse and chain, verge escapement, three-arm steel balance, flat balance spring, pierced and foliate engraved continental balance cock with polished steel endplate, silver regulation dial, repeating on the inside of the case activated by depressing the pendant. Dial and movement signed, the case with French hallmarks.
