A fine French, 18K yellow gold and polychrome enamel pocket watch, circa 1780.
The back is finely decorated with enamelled foliage and polychrome flowers on a blue and black background with a subsidiary enamel floral motif on a salmon background, hinged case back and cuvette. Silver dial with guilloche sunburst pattern engraved Roman numeral indexes, engraved outer minute track. Blued steel Breguet hands.
A gilt movement, eight jewels, cylinder escapement, monometallic balance, flat balance spring, index regulator. Case signed.
