A fine and rare Swiss 14 carat yellow gold open faced Art Deco pocket watch with a chronograph mechanism, made by Bucherer in Lucerne, circa 1930. This exceptional timepiece has a mechanical crown winding movement with a lever escapement, spiral balance, and advance retard adjustment. The signed black lacquered dial features gold baton hour markers, an external minute track with fifth of a second graduations, an outer telemetric scale calibrated in kilometres, a vertical 30 minute register at 12 o’clock, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, a central chronograph seconds hand, and elegant gold hands. The watch is housed in a 14 carat solid yellow gold open faced case with a polished case back, a fluted winding crown, and a sturdy round suspension bow.
