Gold hunting cased lever watch
–
A fine Swiss 14 carat yellow gold full hunter pocket watch made by IWC (International Watch Co.), circa 1930. It has a high grade, keyless wind manual lever movement signed International Watch Co. Schaffhausen. The light cream enamel dial shows black stylised Arabic numerals for the hours, an outer 24 hour track with black numerals (13 to 24), a subsidiary small seconds dial at 6 o’clock, and blued steel Breguet style hands. The dial bears a crisp signature below the 12 o’clock marker. The timepiece is housed in a substantial three body, 14 carat solid yellow gold savonette (full hunter) case with a vertical engine turned stripe pattern (guilloché) and a polished off centre rectangular cartouche engraved with a stylised monogram on the front cover. The outer bezel and case rim have a chased coin edge pattern, completed by a high mounted fluted winding crown and an ornately decorated suspension bow.
