Gold lever watch with independent stop-dead seconds

A fine and rare Swiss, 18K yellow gold quarter repeating, a two-train, hunting cased pocket watch with independent stop-dead seconds, circa 1880. A polished case, button at 12 for the stop-seconds. Hinged gold cuvette. White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track with Arabic numerals at 5-minute intervals, subsidiary seconds. Blued steel spade hands. A rhodium-plated movement, Geneva striping decoration, 40 jewels, two-train with tandem winding, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring with overcoil, index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band. Case numbered.
