Gold form watch with cylinder escapement
–
An extremely rare gold and enamel form watch in the shape of a vine leaf with original key made by P. Reynaud & Cie in Genève, Switzerland, circa 1870. This watch features a numbered and high quality vine leaf shaped relief case with blue enamelling, and comes with an equally exceptional original key and a very fine presentation box with cut outs for the watch and the key. The white enamel dial has Roman hour numerals, an outer minute track and gold hands. The movement has a cylinder escapement with key winding.
Case and cuvette have matching numbers, and dial and cuvette are signed.

Form watches designed as a leaf are a rarity, especially in the detailed and enamelled version like here. Only very few examples are known, most of them probably from Geneva, some of them signed Patek Genève. Another blue enamelled example was signed Vogel & Olivel Genève.

Signed: P. Reynaud et Cie Genève
