Important watch with quarter repeater

An important, museum quality pocket watch with Oriental pearl setting and repeater, probably made by Bautte & Moynier in Genève, Switzerland, circa 1830. The numbered, outstanding quality case of this watch was crafted from 18 carat gold and features half Oriental pearls on both sides and a pendant with two opening buttons. The rare solid gold dial features an outer minute track, Roman hour numerals in cartouches, fine engine turned decoraction, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock and blued Breguet steel hands. The very fine movement is fitted with a cylinder escapement and a quarter repeater.
