Pocket watch with chronograph and  five minute repeater
–
A pocket watch with chronograph and five minute repeater with an extract from the archives, made by Patek, Philippe & Cie in Genève, Switzerland, circa  1879. The numbered open faced case of this watch was crafted from 18 carat gold and has a monogram on the back lid. The white enamel dial has an outer ring with Arabic five minute numerals, Roman hour numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial and steel hands. The highly refined movement has a lever escapement and an unusual double complication: a chronograph and a 5 minute repeater.
The case and cuvette have matching numbers and the cuvette is signed.
