Gold repeating chronograph

A five minute repeating chronograph pocket watch made by Patek Philippe in Geneva, Switzerland, circa 1879. The open faced case of this watch, crafted from 18 carat gold, has a monogram on the back lid. The white enamel dial has Roman hours, an outer minute track with fifth of a second divisions and Arabic five minute numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock and blued steel hands. The movement is fitted with an extremely rare, highly refined lever escapement.
Case and cuvette have matching numbers, and the cuvette is signed.
