Gold enamelled rare quality pendant form watch

A scarab form pendant watch of very rare quality made in Switzerland, circa 1870. This watch, which was crafted very detailed from 18 carat gold and enamel in the shape of a scarab, has black wings with red engine turned enamel, is set with large rose cut diamonds, has eyes set with rubies and a spring lid mechanism for the wings which a push button can release. The white enamel dial has Roman hour numerals, an outer minute track and steel spade hands. The glazed Geneva top quality movement has a concealed cylinder escapement and wolf’s toothing.

It is rare to find these form watches in such high quality craftsmanship, both in the case and the movement. Almost all of these pieces are either damaged or restored.
