Gold and enamel open faced verge watch

A very fine French 20K gold and enamel open faced verge pocket watch, circa 1780. A Louis XVI case, the spring-loaded bezel released by a concealed pin-catch decorated with a flower pattern highlighted with blue and white translucent enamel, a polychrome enamel scene on the back of cupid shooting his arrow in the garden of love against a translucent pink enamel background surrounded by a blue enamel border decorated with gold flowers and foliage. White enamel dial with black Arabic hours, outer dot minute divisions, Arabic quarter-hour numerals and gold hands. A gilt full plate movement, turned pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, three arm brass balance, flat balance spring. Dial and movement signed.
