Gold hunting cased lever with monogram
–
A fine Swiss, hunting cased, keyless, 18 carat pink gold pocket watch with a gold chain, circa 1880. Retailed by L. Sunderlin & Co. This timepiece features a 14 inch ligne movement with a straight line lever escapement. The white enamel dial has Roman numerals, an outer minute track, a subsidiary seconds dial, and spade hands. The engraved case is made of 18k pink gold and is designed in the Louis XVI style. It includes a personally inscribed cuvette, a hinged back, and a monogram. Both the case and the movement are signed by the maker, while the dial is signed by the retailer. The watch includes the Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives, which confirms its date of sale as October 6, 1881, along with a gold filled chain.
