A fine and extremely rare Swiss, 18K gold, hunting cased, keyless minute repeating digital watch with a chronograph, circa 1886. Swiss pocket watch, cased in England, made for the Indian Market, with London hallmarks. A massive, polished digital pocket watch made by Louis Weill (Master mark). Hinged gold cuvette.

Silver engine-turned dial with gold cast foliage decoration, eccentric chronograph ring, sunk subsidiary seconds and apertures for digital display of hours and minutes. A gilt brass movement, three-quarter plate with going barrel, English lateral lever escapement with pointed tooth escape wheel, cut bimetallic balance with ruby endstone, blued steel balance spring with a terminal curve. Minute repeating on gongs with slide in the band, chronograph with push-piece in the band.
