Gold hunting cased lever watch

A very fine and rare French, very small 18K gold, hunting cased, keyless quarter repeating lady’s pendant watch, circa 1890. Made by Breguet Paris, Louis Audemars created the movement. Sold to Madame De Barros on the 14th of January, 1890, for 1550 francs. A polished case, hinged gold cuvette. White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track with five-minute Arabic numerals, subsidiary seconds. Yellow gold spade hands.

A frosted gilt movement, 29 jewels, Audemars keyless winding, wolf’s tooth winding wheels, pin-set, straight-line counterpoised lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band. Signed and numbered on the cuvette for Breguet, movement and case numbered by Louis Audemars. Property of a North American.
