A fine Swiss 18 carat yellow gold open faced quarter repeating pocket watch featuring a concealed erotic automaton from the late 19th century. It has a high quality mechanical crown winding movement with a lever escapement. The white enamel dial shows black Roman numerals for the hours, an outer minute track, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, and sleek blued steel spade hands. The centre of the dial features a horizontal oval aperture revealing a beautiful hand painted polychrome enamel miniature scene titled Lady and gentleman in a garden that conceals an active mechanical automaton mechanism. The timepiece is housed in an 18 carat yellow gold open faced case with a plain polished reverse back cover, a fluted winding crown, and a sturdy round suspension bow.
