A very fine and early, 18-carat pink gold Swiss, astronomical, keyless pocket watch with perpetual calendar and moon phases and lunar calendar, circa 1872-1874.
White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minutes track, subsidiary dials for days of the week, months, subsidiary seconds with inner black date ring, moon phase aperture with its age on the border, and decorative gold hands. A frosted gilt movement, jewelled, wolf’s tooth winding, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator. Movement and dial signed. Accompanied by the Extract from the Archives. Hinged gold cuvette.
