Gold hunting cased keyless lever watch

A very fine and rare Swiss 18 Carat gold and enamel hunting cased keyless lever pocket watch made for a member of the Royal House of Romania, circa 1870. Polished case, reeded band, the front cover decorated with the finely painted coat of arms and the motto Quae Nocent Docent (what harms, teaches in English), the back cover with blue champlevé enamel mirror image K beneath a Royal crown. Hinged gold cuvette. White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute divisions, subsidiary seconds, blued steel fleur-de-lys and pierced lozenge hands. A frosted gilt movement, bar calibre, 17 jewels, wolf’s tooth winding, counterpoised straight line lever escapement, cut bi metallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator. Dial, cuvette and movement signed.
