Gold open faced pocket watch by Patek Philippe
–
A very early Swiss Patek Philippe watch with crown winding according to P. Philippe Invention & Execution, circa 1855.
Engine turned 18K gold à-goutte case, artful gold monogram applied on the reverse, the middle part with coin edge, very early, flat winding crown, dust cover signed: Invention & Exécution Patek, Philippe & Co à Genève. Screwed unusual enamel dial (small defects in the screw connection) with Roman radial hours, outer minutes track and very fine Breguet hands with arrowheads. One of the first crown winding movements from Patek, wolf teeth, moustache anchor, lever escapement. Technically interesting collector’s watch from the 1st phase of the crown winding pocket watches from Patek Philippe!
