The company Ami Sandoz & Sons, Ami Sandoz & Fils or Ami Sandoz & Son, was active in Geneva and La Chaux-de-Fonds from around 1820 to circa 1900. The company won a silver medal at the World Exhibition in Paris in 1878. They used an elevator mechanism invented by Gustave Sandoz. The company also had connections with the watch shop run by the salesman Charles Gottlob Jonathan Seytz until he died on January 17, 1848, in Hyeres, France. In 1884 Ami Sandoz & Fils founded a branch at Markgrafenstrasse 76 in Berlin, but in the “General Apartment Gazette with Address and Business Manual for Berlin, its Surroundings and Charlottenburg” from 1861, an Ami Sandoz & Sons watch shop in Jerusalemmer Strasse 21f was recorded. The company in La Chaux-de-Fonds was continued as Ducommun-Sandoz & Cie.
