A magnificent Swiss 18 carat yellow gold, rubies and pearl-set keywinding pocket watch, made by Robert in Geneva, circa 1840. Made for the Turkish market. Cover and case back decorated with a geometric pattern of half pearls and rubies set forming a rosacea. Case band, pendant and box decorated en suite. White enamel dial with Turkish numerals, outer minute track and gold hands. A gilded brass movement, going barrel, lateral lever escapement, bimetallic balance and blued steel flat hairspring, polished steel index regulator. Signature on the cuvette.
