A splendid Swiss 18 carat gold and enamel pocket watch made for the Chinese market, circa 1840. With two time zones and independent centre seconds with duplex escapement. The back is finely painted with a bouquet of flowers on a green enamel background, with half pearl set bezels. The band and pendant are decorated with light green champlevé enamel to match the back, pendant and bow, gold spring loaded 18 carat gold ridged cuvette hinged to the movement ring. White enamel dial, radial Roman numerals, outer minute and seconds divisions with fifteen minute/second Arabic markers. Blued steel hands. Gilt Chinese calibre fully engraved movement. With a blue champleve enamel, jewelled to the third wheel, standing barrel, duplex escapement, bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel flat balance spring, index regulator. Movement signed.
