A very fine Swiss 18 carat yellow gold open faced keyless pocket watch with split seconds chronograph made by Patek Philippe in Geneva, circa 1893. Retailed and cased by Tiffany & Co in New York, U.S.A. Sold on January 12th, 1894. Accompanied by an Extract from the Archives. The solid, polished case with a rectangular pusher on the band for the split seconds function and a hinged gold cuvette with dedication engraving.

White enamel dial with black Arabic hour numerals, an outer minute track with 1/5 seconds divisions and red Arabic five minute markers, sunk subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and blackened steel spade hands. The nickel silver movement with Geneva striping decoration, 23 jewels, a counterpoised straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance and blued steel Breguet balance spring. Dial, case, cuvette and movement signed.
