A fine and rare Swiss pink gold trip quarter repeating watch with grande sonnerie, circa 1815 The beautiful movement with verge escapement has a separate winding mechanism, two polished steel hammers repeating on two gongs, gilt engraved cuvette.
The white enamel dial is adorned with black Arabic numerals and elegant Fleur-De-Lys hands.
The watch is encased in an 18 carat polished pink gold case with a ribbed middle, complemented by a gold pendant and bow. The push button in the pendant allows for easy activation of the trip repeating function. Overall, this Swiss rose gold quarter-striking pocket watch is a testament to the craftsmanship and ingenuity of early 19th century watchmaking.

The three sons of Louis Courvoisier Henri-Louis, Frédéric-Alexandre (Fritz) and Courvoisier, Philippe-Auguste became partners in the company and continued the business after the death of his father in 1832. In 1842, the brothers Henri-Louis and Philippe-Auguste founded their own company Courvoisier Frères, and Frédéric-Alexandre (Fritz) founded the company Fritz Courvoisier.

Trip repeaters like this example are much more advanced and complex. Using a tandem winding double barrel system for the repeating force, this timepiece sounds with a simple push of the trip button and the chime function can be repeated several times before the spring needs to be rewound.
