A fine 18K French varicoloured gold pocket watch, circa 1770. Back decorated with applied varicoloured gold musical instruments, quiver with love arrows, courting doves, torch, and flowers, bezels with applied flowers. White enamel dial, radial Roman numerals, outer minute divisions with five-minute Arabic numerals, winding aperture at 2 o’clock. Gold Louis XV hands. A frosted gilt full-plate movement with pentagonal baluster pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, steel balance with flat balance spring, continental cock. Movement signed.
