Unusual Swiss gilt metal and enamel open faced verge pocket watch, circa 1790. The reverse of the case with painted enamel scene depicting two maidens in an orchard within a blue border. White enamel dial, radial Roman numerals, outer minute divisions and Arabic five-minute numerals, gilt hands. A hinged gilt-brass full plate movement with square pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement with micrometric potence adjustment, plain brass three-arm balance, continental cock with polished steel endplate, silvered regulation dial. Movement signed by the watchmaker, dial signed Patry & Chaudoir A Genève.
