A very fine, heavy Swiss, 18K pink gold, keyless dress watch, circa 1892. Made for the American market, sold on February 17th, 1894. Accompanied by the Extract from the Archives. The back cover is engraved with a foliate monogram, stiff-leaf border and bezel, guilloché pattern band. Hinged gold cuvette. Cream enamel dial, Breguet numerals, outer minute divisions, subsidiary seconds. Blued steel Breguet hands. A rhodium-plated movement, Geneva striping decoration, 18 jewels, wolf’s tooth winding, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, snail-type micrometre regulator patented Jan 13, 1891. Dial, case, cuvette and movement signed. Property of a French Gentleman.
