A fine and unusual Swiss, 18k yellow gold hunting cased pocket watch featuring a snake and tiger on the cover, circa 1910. Made for the South American market. The cover with relief roaring tiger in reeds being bitten by a snake, plain satin finish reverse, hinged gold cuvette. Off-white enamel dial, black Arabic numerals, outer gilt minute dots, subsidiary seconds. Gold Louis XV hands. Rhodium plated movement, Geneva striping decoration, 18 jewels, four in screwed chatons, straight-line lever escapement, cut and compensated bimetallic balance, blued steel overcoil hairspring, micro-regulation. Case and movement signed.
