An exquisite watch with diamond setting

An exquisite gold and enamel full hunter cased watch with diamond setting, housed in an extremely high quality, original box, made by Carl Suchy & Söhne in la Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, circa 1880. This watch has three lids all crafted from 14 carat gold, both outer lids are enamelled, the spring lid is set with rose cut diamonds and the cuvette is numbered and inscribed with Ancre Ligne droite and 15 Rubis. The white enamel dial has Roman hour numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock and gold hands. The movement has a very fine precision lever escapement and wolf’s toothing.

In 1898, Carl Suchy & Söhne was awarded the prestigious title of ‘Purveyor to the Court’ because its watches exceeded the highest expectations of elegance and technical perfection.
