Marine chronometer with power reserve

A very small and rare marine chronometer in excellent condition made by Longines in Saint-Imier, Switzerland, circa 1950. The case of this watch was crafted from brass and mounted in a gimbal suspension in its mahogany box. The silvered dial has Arabic hour numerals, an outer minute track, subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock, power reserve indication at 12 and has blued steel spade hands. The numbered movement has Geneva striping decoration, is fitted with an anker chronometer escapement, a chronometer balance and cam type fine adjusting device.
The dial and box are signed.
