A swiss 18K gold and painted-on enamel pocket watch, circa 1830.The case made for the Islamic market, circa 1830, the movement by Cortebert, circa 1960. A lobed case, the bezel with panels of painted-on enamel flowers, the back cover with ten segments painted on enamel with trophies and flowers, the centre with a flower bouquet on a translucent red enamel guilloche ground. Hinged engine-turned gold cuvette. White enamel dial with Islamic numerals, outer minute track and blued steel Cathedral hands.
A rhodium-plated movement, 15 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic compensation balance, blued steel flat balance spring, index regulator. Dial signed in Arabic, movement signed Cortebert.
