A fine Swiss silver, enamel and pearl-set hunting cased minute repeating chronograph watch for the Chinese market, circa 1900, jeweled gilt movement.
White enamel dial, Roman numerals in gilt bordered reserves, outer minute track with Arabic numerals, subsidiary dial for the seconds.
Silver case decorated on both bezels with pearls, polychrome enamel to the case front depicting a lady on a green background, the back with a couple walking through a love garden with green enamel background, dial signed Trusty

The establishment of the Tavannes Watch Co. in 1895 turned the village into a major watchmaking center. To house the growing population a number of Swiss chalet and Art nouveau style houses were built between 1900 and 1930. The Royal Cinema opened in 1918 and turned Tavannes into regional cultural center.
