Pink gold repeating lever pocket watch

A very rare Swiss 18 carat pink gold hunting cased five minute repeating pocket watch made by Patek Philippe in Geneva, circa 1893. The manual winding nickel lever movement with 29 jewels. White enamel dial with black Arabic hours, an outer minute track, outermost gilt Arabic five minute numerals, subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and blued spade hands. The polished case with a monogram on the front, a hinged cuvette and a slide to activate the repeater at 6 o’clock. Dial, case and movement signed.

This watch is an extremely rare example of a Patek Philippe repeater. Of the roughly 3,600 minute repeater movements made by Patek Philippe, about 750 were five minute repeaters, and of those around 250 were hunting cased.
