Gold verge with automaton Jacks in Empire costume

A very fine and rare Swiss, 18K gold, quarter repeating pocket watch with automaton Jacks in Empire costume, circa 1815. A polished Empire case with a reeded band and polished bezel, the interior of the back cover with engraved dedication. Gilt metal cuvette hinged to the movement ring. Small white enamel dial with Breguet numerals, outer minute track. Blued steel hands.

Martin- Martine type varicoloured chased gold Jacks of a lady and gentleman dressed in Empire costume on each side of the dial on a royal blue enamel background with gold paillon decoration, appearing to strike the hours and quarters on two bells. Gilt brass full plate movement with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass continental cock, repeating on two gongs activated by depressing the pendant.
