A very fine Swiss, 18K pink gold, minute repeating, a hunting cased keyless pocket watch with split-seconds chronograph, circa 1880. Retailed by Brillmann & Co. London.
A heavy, polished case. Hinged gold cuvette, glazed gold-rimmed cover to view the movement. White enamel dial, three-piece, with radial Arabic numerals, outer minute track and seconds divisions, red-painted Arabic five minute/seconds numerals, subsidiary seconds. Blued steel spade hands. A rhodium-plated movement, Geneva striping decoration, 31 jewels, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band, visible chronograph mechanism.
