A very fine and rare Swiss, 18K yellow gold minute repeating, a keyless pocket watch with split-seconds chronograph and regulator dial, circa 1880. Made for the American market. A polished case, bolt at 1 o’clock to lock the chronograph. Hinged gold-rimmed glazed cuvette. Solid silver dial, regulator type, small dial at 12 with radial Roman numerals for the hours, outer minute track with red champlevé enamel five-minute numerals, subsidiary seconds at 6. Blued steel double spade hands.

A rhodium-plated movement, Geneva striping decoration, 32 jewels, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band, visible chronograph work.
