A fine and rare Swiss 18k yellow gold open faced diamond and pearl set skeletonized watch, circa 1980, cal 17”’170 fully skeletonized manual winding gilt lever movement finely engraved with scrollwork, diamond-set bezels with engraved border, band set with seed pearls, diamond-set bow, ruby-set crown, case and movement signed.

Skeletonized Patek Philippe caliber 17”’ movements are extremely rare and this example has specifications that suggest it may be a unique example. The Ref. 912 is set with diamonds and a pearl-set band, making this watch both a masterpiece of the jeweler and the watchmaker. The pearl-set bezel of the present lot harkens back to the Swiss tradition of watches made specifically for the Chinese market.
