An exquisite Swiss 18 carat gold, enamel and diamond set pendant watch in the form of a scarab with concealed dial, circa 1870. Small white enamel dial with blue Arabic hour numerals, a red 12, outer gold minute dots and decorative hands. A scarab shaped case featuring engine turned translucent cobalt blue enamel, spring loaded, wings studded with rose cut diamonds, the diamond set neck is decorated in champlevé style, the head and hinged belly are realistically chased and engraved, the eyes set with rubies. Glazed, oval shaped bridge movement with a cylinder escapement and three arm brass balance.
