Gold cylinder pendant watch

A Geneva 18 carat gold, enamel and diamond set pendant form watch designed as a scarab, circa 1870. The small, concealed white enamel dial with Roman hour numerals, an outer minute track and spade hands. A scarab shaped case featuring engine turned translucent red enamel, spring loaded, wings studded with rose cut diamonds, the diamond set neck is decorated in champlevé style, the head and hinged belly are realistically chased and engraved, the eyes set with diamonds and on the inside cover, a picture can be inserted behind a glass panel. Key wound, heart shaped bridge movement with a cylinder escapement and three arm brass balance. The cuvette is heart shaped.
