A rare Swiss gold and enamel musical watch with automata, circa 1815 ‘The music lesson’, cylinder movement, gilt metal cuvette, small eccentric engine-turned gold dial, surrounded by a polychrome enameled finely appointed salon showing pictures on silk-covered walls, an urn on a white marble pedestal and side cabinet with loss to the edge, applied with vari-color gold scene of two musicians with automated arms playing a guitar and a lyre, with a third figure, a student, writing on tablet, framed by blue silk swags.
The music and automata activated by a button at 10 o’clock in the band, signed on movement surround, case stamped PC and GD.
