Gold open faced verge watch
–
An exquisite enamel verge watch with very rare pearl decoration by Clary à Genève, circa 1780. A gilt glazed protective case, pink gold case, 18K gold, blue enamelled, both sides with half pearls, back with extraordinary and very rare flower-shaped pearl decoration, original Oriental pearls, gilt verge movement, signed and numbered, original signed enamel dial, very exceptional and valuable hands with diamond decoration, in working order, cleaning recommended, small restoration at the lower rim of the enamel, otherwise in excellent condition.

The signature sounds English, but the origin is Switzerland! Only a few pocket watches with this signature are known, but all of them are of outstanding quality. Enamel watches with pearl decoration on the enamel surface are extremely rare and valuable.
