A rare Swiss hunting cased minute repeating pocket watch with Carillon and quarter hour self strike – Grande Sonnerie, circa 1910.
Rhodium 1/2 plated movement, lever escapement, gold screw compensation balance, index regulator, striking the hours and quarters on three gongs with three hammer. White enamel dial with radial Arabic numerals, outer minutes track, subsidiary dial for the seconds, and gold spade hands. Gold hinged cuvette. Polished 18-carat gold case with monogram. Silence/Sonnerie selection lever on the bezel border. Dial and movement signed.

The movement of this timepiece was constructed in the manufactory of César Racine, who had his workshop in the Avenue de Nouveau Collège in Locle and specialized in Grande Sonnerie movements; he had them registered with patents no. 16122 and 18543.
