Gold open faced cylinder watch

A decorated French, 18K gold and champlevé enamel pocket watch with a gold and enamel ratchet key, circa 1830. The bezel is decorated with red and white champlevé enamel half flowers on a black enamel ground, the back is covered with polychrome champlevé enamel flowers and foliage and a butterfly on a black enamel ground, outer border matches the bezel. Hinged gold cuvette. Silver dial, engine-turned with radial Roman numerals, outer dot minute divisions. Blued steel Breguet hands. A matte gilt movement, Lepine calibre, jewelled cylinder escapement, plain three-arm gilt balance, blued steel fl at balance spring, index regulator. Dial and cuvette signed.
