A fine English, 18K yellow gold, hunting cased, keyless quarter repeating pocket watch, circa 1890. Made for the South American market. The front and back covers are engraved with a foliate pattern centred by an initial, band chased and engraved in a repeated pattern, engraved gold hinged cuvette engraved with the owner’s name.

Silver dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute divisions, centre and the outermost in applied gold floral decoration, subsidiary engraved sunk seconds—blued steel Louis XVI hands. A gilt brass movement, damascened, 28 jewels, gold screwed chatons, straight-line lever escapement, cut-bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, engraved index regulator with diamond endstone, repeating on gongs by activating slide on the band, fold-down winder, and button to adjust the time.
