An extremely rare English, 18 carat yellow gold minute repeating keyless pocket watch, circa 1850. The case with London hallmarks for 1850-1851. Made for the Spanish market. The case is made by Alfred Stram (AS), the band and bezels are entirely chased and engraved with floral and foliate decoration, front with engraved monogram. Hinged gold cuvette engraved: The Marquis de la Granja, de San Saturnino. Silver dial with applied gold decoration, radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and outermost applied gold leaf and flower pattern. The centre applied a gold flower basket, subsidiary dials for the seconds and blued steel fleur-de-lis hands. Gilt brass movement, 15 jewels, ¾ plate, lateral lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator. The dial is signed.
