Gold hunting cased minute repeater chronograph watch
–
A Swiss 14 carat yellow gold full hunter minute repeater chronograph pocket watch, circa 1910. This watch has a hand wound mechanical movement with a lever escapement. It includes a minute repeater complication operated by small trebuchet hammers striking specific gongs and an integrated chronograph function. The white enamel dial shows black Arabic numerals for the hours, a railway track for the minutes and chronograph seconds, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, a large central chronograph seconds hand, and gold Louis XV style hands. The massive, round, solid gold hunting case has a guilloché decorated blind front cover with a vacant cartouche, a fluted crown, a metal bélière ring, and an engraved gold dust cover cuvette displaying prize medals. The case opens to an inner glazed dust cover protecting the movement and comes with a gold giletière vest chain with metal snap hooks.
