Gold open faced lever watch by Patek Philippe & Co.
–
A decorative, remarkable gentleman’s Geneva pocket watch with floral relief engraving by Stern Frères, circa 1910.
Such a remarkable dial is a rarity in a Patek Philippe pocket watch. The dial has marvellous floral engraving and is framed by a finely moulded enamel ring, which is signed and has radial Arabic numerals, outer minutes track, subsidiary dial for the seconds, and Breguet hands. The dial is a special production by Stern Frères, no. 804 and 805, illustrated in their second catalogue, 1905 to 1920. The 18-Carat gold case has a fine sunray engraving. And the movement is a bridge movement with a gold screw compensation balance.
