A gentleman’s very fine and rare quarter repeating pocket watch with musical movement, circa 1880.  18k gold case, lavishly engine turned, gilt and signed dome with engraved musical instruments, pusher for repetition via pendant, case maker punch mark “AH”, lever to stop quarter repeating mechanism, slide for for activating the musical movement, reeded band. Dial is gold, engineturned, radial Roman numerals, blued Breguet hands. Bridge movement, keywind, frosted, gilt, blued screws, 2 hammers, 2 gongs, 2 going barrels, sur plateau musical movement, cylinder escapement, three-arm ring balance, blued balance spring.
